See that straight line I sewed?

ButterCup E-Flyers

ButterCup is going to be the name for my fabric line! Still in keeping with butter, but cuter and in keeping with the whole vintage thing I've got going on.
This is some new advertising...

I'm so excited to announce that I've added self-covered buttons to the list of things I can do in the line of sewing...

1. Sew a straight line (tick)...(just)
2. Self cover buttons in one's own fabric (tick)

2 hurrahs for me!

hurrah! hurrah!

Clay Fine Food & Health Identity Design

A completely re-vamped fine food store in the heart of Rathdowne Village, Carlton, Melbourne.
Ain't it just so nice? I love the pattern work...

Acorns

Got this pic off Stephanie Congdo-Barnes' flickr (little birds) I think. It was so long ago, but I really like acorns, I think they're very pretty.

Crotchet Marine Life

I like crotchet, just can't crotchet... My Granma can though, she makes doilies and coat hanger covers. Granma also makes coat hanger covers out of used bread bags, (she's so eco-chic)...

You can buy the patterns for them (and more) here: www.jpolka.etsy.com

Beautiful Vintage Type

Just look at this. So perfect. All the right elements in their rightful place... Also be sure to note 'Jumble Sale' using that subtle block shadow effect... *swoon*

Beattie

Octopus Prints, Pom Pom Necklaces & lovely hand done stitches!

Check out the work of Beatrice Lanser, designer (and lovely friend!) behind Beattie – a clothing label based in Sydney's Northern Beaches. She makes pom pom necklaces, hand-printed cotton jersey dresses, printed tights, tees and more, with her signature stitches (that are all done just beautifully by hand!) How wonderful is the octupus print on the tights up yonder! I'm told there's a new print to come, made from potato cuts.

Look out for her at Manly markets every three weeks and for her interview on www.thefinderskeepers.com!

Fresh New Butter Creative Screen-Printed Fabric!

Hello!

I've just launched some new fabric designs!
They're screen-printed by hand with eco-friendly inks onto 100% white Cotton in Melbourne, Australia. Check out my Etsy store to buy and see pricing (www.buttercreative.etsy.com), I also sell on Made.It.com...

I really dig Japanese & vintage illustration, and unusual combinations of colour. They're suitable for adults and kidlets alike. Stay tuned for some images of clothing, house shoes and bags that have been made with the designs!

The first design was made on a really windy day here in Melbourne (No! Really?) hence flying rakes, displaced little birdies, leaves and trees! The second design was inspired by the vague memory of my Grannies towel when I was just a kidlet. These would both look great made into cushions, doonas/sheets for kids, clothing and you name it...
